Today I made the metal tiller. There is a photo etch part in the kit I don't think is completely thought through. It should be folded and then ...?






Anyway I found a method that works for me. I folded at the other side direction, soldered the folded parts (green) and then soldered a brass strip (red) with the contour of the rudder head so that the parts fit the rudder head :-)

Still missing on deck were the pumps. The kits pumps are a - sorry but serious? - joke. Why not 3D printing something appropriate? Would have been an easy imo.

Anyway, I can't use what came with the kit so I did my own pumps in brass.


On the left the Kits 3D printed pumps.




Need more practise but it works, had to do grooves around the brass tube to hold the rings in position, almost worked out.


















After all I think the result is quite ok.
