The only 3D printed cannon I have used is on my current build of the 1:96 carronades. They were just too small to turn convincingly in brass and mount on carriages. I too prefer turning brass, despite the fact that design work becomes problematic. Even Bernard Frolich only turned single models of cannon in brass and used moulds to make all the others.

Zoltan from Dry-Dock Models & Parts were so kind to send me some of the new in the shop Photo Etched Sweep Port Hinges. So another small task finished on my Granado List :-)

I avoided it for quite a while. The kit did not include a chainplate/deadeye ensemble, and the front part of the channel board is also missing. So I had to do it by my own. I used the excellent Dry Dock Deadeyes and Iron chain Strop and did the Chain Plates by my own. It's not perfect and not exactly as on the contemporary drawing but it tells the story and I am quite happy with the result as it does not look "naked" there anymore :-)

The area marked in red shows the part of the channel board that was not included in the kit.

Swifel Gun Pedstal and Swivel Gun done. Both unfortunately also not included in the kit. I had some spare 3D printed Swivels I got from Master Korabel a time ago. They fit perfectly in my opinion :-)

The list what to do gets shorter :-D

I did Mortar Cap Square and Mortar Support (simplified). Unfortunately the Mortar is not made very good (white metal) ...

3D printing has made a big difference to modelling of small parts. I had to have my 6-pounder carronades at 1:96 done in 3D as the smaller details I found very hard to do convincingly.

One of the last small missing details - The kevel cleats sitting on the sheer rail is done :-)

Next and last will be finishing the guns. The cross section will miss the keel rabbet though, I thought I could it done later but I have no idea how to do it without risk of damage.
