Thanks Tony, glad you like it :-)
Covid hit me the first time so no big update. I did the sweep port lids, better, I faked them :-) It's just a very thin sheet of pear glued on. I also did the partly deck planking with the two binding strakes. I don't think I will do treenailing though. Cheers Dirk

Sorry about the COVID. I hope you are not suffering the longer term issues such as fatigue. I wouldn't worry about faking it, as all models require a deal of faking. I am definitely not a fan of treenails, by the way, finding them hard to see even on full size boats. I just see models as representations, and yours are always beautiful.

Thanks Tony. At the Moment I am just tired (still positive though) but that's ok.
I decided to plank the inner hull partly too. After that, the Sheer Rail were done. Cheers Dirk

Good idea leaving one side unplanked. Is the tiredness a weariness with modelling? If so, stop it for a while until the mood comes on a again. It's just a personal hobby, after all. If it's due to feeling unwell, again it'd be best to rest and work on the cause.

Thanks Tony! Always great to read you :-)
Since yesterday I am COVID negative again, yeah ... 17 days :-D Lot's of smaller stuff has been built. Cleats, Kevel Cleats, Ring Bolts on Deck, scuppers completed and the channels. Unfortunately the channels are not "complete" .. (same with the MSB Drawings though) they should be upt to the cut. Also the deadeyes are missing, I will do them. Here you can see the "missing" part. Anyway I scratched it :-) Cheers Dirk

Entry Port Ladder & Centerline Stanchions done :-)
Little Jig for the ladder steps. Doing the Centerline Stanchions. Cheers Dirk

Almost finished one gun. Not sure if I will do more .... the barrel is a 3D printed russian one by Master Korabel .... :-P
The kit ones are too top-heavy and have a wrong shape. There will be no rigging. Cheers Dirk

Nice jigs, Dirk. Thinking them up is one of the satisfactions of the hobby. 3D printing really has improved the making of realistic cannon models.

Thanks Tony, indeed 3D printing is a great step forward even I sometimes tend to be conservative and prefer brass when possible :-)
I decided to do three guns so two more are in progress right now :-) I also "closed" the back of the Shell Room and did the doors on the front, very dark in there. Cheers Dirk |
